We were recently privileged to host the official launch of the “Many Faiths, One Courage” exhibition at the 4 R YORKS Drill Hall in Huddersfield.
This powerful exhibition honours the incredible service, bravery, and dedication of Indian servicemen and women within the British Indian Army throughout history. It serves as a vital reminder of our shared history and the profound contributions made by these individuals.
A Distinguished Gathering
The launch was a resounding success, bringing together members of the military, local leadership, and the wider community. We were delighted to welcome a number of distinguished guests who came to show their support and reflect on the exhibition’s message.
Among the attendees were:
-
The Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, representing His Majesty The King.
-
The Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police, highlighting the event’s significance to the wider community.
-
Colonel Nigel Rhodes, the R YORKS Regimental Secretary.
Reflection and Remembrance
The evening was filled with poignant moments. It was truly wonderful to hear our guest speakers share their insights, each speaking so passionately and positively about the importance of this exhibition.
Beyond the formal speeches, the event allowed ample time for quiet reflection. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the displays, discussing and remembering the immense sacrifice and unwavering courage of the brave Indian men and women who served.
“Events like this remind us that courage knows no single faith or background. The legacy of those who served is a cornerstone of our shared military history.”
