Quebec Company of the 1st Battalion The Royal Yorkshire Regiment (1 R YORKS) has officially reached the halfway point of their tour on Operation CABRIT 17 in Poland.

Embedded within the US-led Forward Land Forces Battlegroup Poland, our soldiers have been working shoulder-to-shoulder with our American allies from the 1-64th Armoured Regiment.

The tour has seen the company pivot from representative duties to a dedicated war-fighting focus. Key achievements include:

🔹 Projecting the whole company nearly 1000km to Estonia to participate in Exercise HEDGEHOG.
🔹 Leading the British Army’s contribution to Project VANAHEIM, a vital joint UK/US counter-UAS experimentation project.

As one soldier put it, “the deployment is to deter adversaries and prepare for war.” This journey will culminate in the first full Battlegroup Operational Rehearsal, demonstrating a fundamental step-change in our collective war-fighting capability.
