Farewell to a Royal Yorkshire Stalwart!

Yesterday we bid a heartfelt farewell to Corporal Lanaway, a true legend of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Yorkshire Regiment! 🎖️

After an incredible 23 years of dedicated service, Corporal Lanaway is hanging up his beret. What an amazing career it’s been, with 8 operational tours under his belt in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan.

His entire career has been spent right here with the Regiment – a testament to his unwavering loyalty, selflessness, and professionalism right to the very end. He’s left an indelible mark on generations of soldiers and on the very fabric of our battalion.
