An incredible moment at the Great Yorkshire Show last week as Private Hanson of 1st Battalion The Royal Yorkshire Regiment was presented with The Yorkshire Agricultural Society Best Soldier award, by GYS President (elect) Nick Lane Fox. This prestigious award recognises her outstanding contributions to Corunna Company and 1 R YORKS.

Private Hanson’s exemplary performance as a Foxhound Light Protected Patrol Vehicle driver in Kosovo, her consistent reliability in all driving tasks, and her recent success in completing the Junior Non-Commissioned Officer cadre truly set her apart. Notably, she is the first female infanteer in 1 R YORKS to pass this challenging course, paving the way for future generations.
