It was a moving and poignant morning at the annual Colsterdale Memorial Remembrance Service on Tuesday, 1st July 2025.
Members of The Prince of Wales’s Own (West & East Yorkshire) Regimental Association, including standard bearers, gathered to pay their respects to the fallen of the 15th Battalion, The West Yorkshire Regiment (The Leeds Pals) from the Great War.
The service took place at the memorial cairn at Breary Banks, Colsterdale, a location of quiet reflection and remembrance. Attendees arrived for 10:45 AM for the 11:00 AM service, with many wearing regimental blazers, ties, and medals to honour the occasion.
Following the service, an informal gathering for refreshments was held, allowing attendees to come together.
Thank you to all who attended and paid their respects. Nec Aspera Terrent.
