A Moment of Immense Pride for the Regiment

It is with the greatest pleasure that we share some truly magnificent news regarding our very first Colonel, General, the Lord Houghton.

We have received the following official communication:

“His Majesty the King has exercised his will and pleasure in appointing General, the Lord Houghton to the honorary rank of Field Marshal in the British Army, with effect from Saturday 14th June 2025. This appointment is made in sincere recognition of his most distinguished service and continued support to the United Kingdom, realms and territories.”

This is a remarkable and richly deserved honour that reflects a lifetime of dedicated service. As a Regiment, we are incredibly proud that our founding Colonel has been recognised in this way. It is a source of immense pride for the entire regimental family, past and present.

We extend our warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to Field Marshal Nick and Lady Maggie Houghton and their family on this historic and very special occasion.
