A day of milestones for the 1st Battalion. Today, we bid a heartfelt farewell and offer our thanks to Sergeant Julian Burnett, who retires after an incredible 26 years of dedicated service to the British Army.

For the last two years, Sgt Burnett has been a cornerstone of our REME Light Aid Detachment. His professionalism and experience have been invaluable, and it has been a privilege for all of us to serve alongside him.

As we wished him well, we also celebrated Private Harper’s 21st birthday—a fitting reminder of the next generation of soldiers Sgt Burnett has helped to inspire.

We wish him and his family the very best of luck as he begins his next chapter as a civilian.
