This past weekend, members of The Royal Yorkshire Regiment, led by the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Zac Stenning, returned to the historic shores of Normandy to honour the profound legacy of our forebears.

From walking the sands of Sword and Gold beaches where Yorkshiremen fought with immense bravery, to moments of quiet reflection at the British Military Cemetery in Bayeux, the trip was a powerful study in courage and sacrifice.

The visit culminated in a parade through the village of Crepon, where the warm welcome and shared vin d’honneur with the community reaffirmed the enduring bond forged in 1944. A humbling and vital reminder of the spirit and determination of the Yorkshire soldier. We will remember them.
