The Royal Yorkshire Regiment is immensely proud to announce and celebrate the outstanding members of our regimental family who were recognised by His Majesty The King in the 2025 Birthday Honours List, published this past Saturday, 14th June.
It is a moment of immense pride to see our own personnel acknowledged for their exceptional commitment and unwavering service.
Appointment of Field Marshal
With particular pride, we celebrate the appointment of our founding Colonel, General, the Lord Houghton, to the honorary rank of Field Marshal. This rare and distinguished honour is a testament to a lifetime of service to the Crown and the British Army—the entire regimental family shares in the joy and pride of this historic appointment.
State Honours and Senior Commendations
We are also delighted to celebrate the following members of the Regiment who have been awarded State Honours or have received senior commendations. Their dedication brings great credit to themselves, their families, and to the Regiment.
Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath
Our Colonel of the Regiment, Major General Zac Stenning, has been appointed as a Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (CB). This prestigious honour recognises his outstanding leadership and distinguished contribution to the British Army.
Chief of the General Staff Commendation
Lance Corporal Strasynski has been awarded a Chief of the General Staff (CGS) Commendation. This award is a testament to their exemplary and meritorious service, marking them out for an exceptional contribution and performance.
Commander Field Army Commendations
Major Berry and Captain Kitridge have each been awarded a Commander Field Army (CFA) Commendation. This award highlights their outstanding professionalism and commitment, recognising service of a standard significantly above that expected of their rank and experience.
