THE royal YORKSHIRE REGIMENT

Pristine WW2 Uniform Donated

Today in York, we gratefully received the uniforms and story of Lt Leslie Haigh, West Yorkshire Regiment.  He first joined the York and Lancs Regiment as soldier, before being commissioned in 1946. Leslie went on to serve in Austria before leaving the Army to be married, in 1949.   Donated by his son Ian Haigh from Hebden Bridge, were his service dress uniform and hat, his greatcoat, battledress and a complete set of officers webbing, binoculars and gas mask, all in pristine condition along with service papers, letters and photographs.

As we go through a period of well-earned Summer Leave with our families, the Summer Newsletter provides an update on what our battalions and the regimental family have been doing recently. Go on the publications page to read it.
