Welcome to

YORKSNET

YORKSNet has been developed to provide the regimental family, our ‘Followers’ and ‘Friends of the Regiment’ with a single source of the latest information and news, all in one place! From the very latest battalion updates, where to find help and what’s going on, to the latest news items, and links to our latest social media posts.

As we go through a period of well-earned Summer Leave with our families, the Summer Newsletter provides an update on what our battalions and the regimental family have been doing recently. Go on the publications page to read it.

What we

Do

Under the British Army’s ‘Future Soldier’ programme 1 RYORKS have re-roled from Armoured to Light-Mechanised Infantry and are now subordinated to the 7th Light Mechanised Brigade Combat Team, The Desert Rats.  1 RYORKS will remain in Catterick but as one of three Light Mechanised Infantry battalions which will rotate through Cyprus.  4 RYORKS will be paired with 1 RYORKS, remain in York and are now subordinated to the newly formed 19th Brigade.

After their summer return to Chester, 2 RYORKS now form the nucleus of the Experimentation and Trials Group alongside existing specialist trials and development units.  2 RYORKS will subsequently move to a permanent home in Warminster in 2024.
